Wow ...

My Gino-Wes Welker YouTube video went viral and I didn't even realize it!

From Sports Illustrated (cnn.com):

What's Up With Wes?

Two items on Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker: First, he recently spoke about that photo of he and former escort Ashley Dupree at the Playboy Mansion, which made its way around the Internet a few months ago. Welker told the Boston Herald he didn't even know who Dupree was when the picture was taken. Interesting explanation. Moving on... Welker also attended Saturday's Magic-Celtics game and busted out some groovy dance moves (blogspot.com).

From Outside the Boxscore (blogspot.com):

Remember when New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker suffered a torn ACL/MCL in the final week of the 2009 NFL season?

Well, he seems to be back in good spirits as he attended the Boston Celtics/Orlando Magic game three over the weekend.

During a time-out, the jumbotron at TD Banknorth Garden decided to get everybody dancing including Mr. Welker.

From The Sporting News (sportingnews.com):

Wes Welker's Recovery Going Well Enough For Him To Jig

Reports indicate that Wes Welker is ahead of schedule in recovering from reconstructive knee and rotator cuff surgeries, most likely because of grittiness, scrappiness or hustle. Or possibly a gutty combination of the three. However, he still has a long way to go before he's the frustratingly elusive slot receiver of old.

In the meantime, Patriots fans can take heart that Welker's knee is in good enough shape that he was able to shimmy for a few seconds (fanhouse.com) during the Celtics' Dancing Gino routine during Boston's Game 2 rout of the Magic on Saturday. See, everyone always jokes that the Patriots are fine with Julian Edelman in place of Welker, but where are his displays of jubilation when other hometown teams are excelling? Clearly Edelman is not up to the task of being a physical embodiment of Boston sports fandom, which is an integral role Welker plays in Beantown.

From Back Porch Fanhouse (fanhouse.com):

Wes Welker Has Boogie Fever

Wes Welker is currently recovering from knee and shoulder injuries that limited his effectiveness during the 2009 season. He told ESPN last week that "It's a long process but I feel like I'm making a lot of strides." Among other things, it turns out.

Welker had courtside seats at Saturday's Magic-Celtics playoff game. During a third-quarter timeout -- and with Boston enjoying a comfortable lead -- the Pats' wideout, no doubt inspired by Gino, busted a move.

Welker should expect a visit from a Massachusetts worker's comp representative. Or maybe it's part of his rehab.

From the Boston Herald (bostonherald.com):

Have you seen Patriots WR Wes Welker dancing at the Celtics game yet?

I love Youtube. Endless videos of nonsense you may have missed or otherwise would never see. Like ... since we're on the subject of Patriots WR Wes Welker, have you checked out the shot of him dancing with icon Gino on the jumbotron at the Celtics game last night?

Thanks to a heads-up from Bryant (tumblr.com), check it out below ...

What kind of time did Welker have at the Celtics game? That was a topic when I talked to him today during the second day of his camp for kids.

"It was awesome," Welker said. "We had a good time last night. (The jumbotron) was funny, dude. We had a good time, good seats like that, you're sitting there hanging out, it's quite a deal. Yeah, we got a lot bit into it."

From the Boston Globe (boston.com):

Welker shows off moves at the Garden
Posted by Albert Breer

Through some already documented travel mishaps, I've got a minute or two (or hundreds of them) here at the airport to pass along something that our good buddy Will passed along (twitter.com) ...

A blogger named Bryant captured posted some video (Bryant actually contacted me, and notified me he found the video on YouTube ...A user named BoondyAlBoondy shot it) of the Gino routine during the Celtics' rout of the Magic at the Garden last night. And after they ran through some randoms, who was it ... But Wes Welker appearing on the Jumbotron!!!

Not sure if any of what Wes is doing qualifies as "moving laterally" or "cutting, but it's funny anyway. Check it out (About 30 seconds in)

Videos from Game Four (Boston-Cleveland)

Yesterday's game was everything that Game Three wasn't ... The Celtics played with passion, the home crowd was electric, just a fun Sunday afternoon all around.

And don't worry, Ma, we'll celebrate Mother's Day next weekend ... The restaurants will be less crowded, that's for sure ;)

Videos from Game Three (Boston-Cleveland)

The officiating was completely one-sided at the start of the first quarter, and the Celtics - rather than fighting through the adversity - decided as a team to simply give up and lie down for Cleveland.

Give the Cavs credit, the refs might have given them a nudge in the right direction, but Lebron and his mates were playing at the highest intensity level and simply overpowered Boston with their energy.

The bottom line is, the Celtics quit when they should've been trying to put even more doubt into the Cavaliers' collective minds with a spirited effort (win or lose) ... We'll see how they respond tomorrow afternoon.
